  6.             Hiding your IP Via Anonymizer.com or other Proxy servers.

  9. I was surfing the net, playing with Anonymizer.com's anonymous proxy server,
  10. and i got to thinking....what if i could do the same with ICQ.
  11. Well, you can. Go to the little ICQ button, then Add/Change current user
  12. then register a new user. Once you get there, click LAN user, then
  13. I am behinf a firewall or proxy. Then click SOCKS4 proxy server.
  14. For SOCKS4 host put: 209.75.196.16 (thats anon.free.anonymizer.com)
  15. for SOCKS4 port put: 80

  17. Then click next and fill in the other bllshit information and click register.
  18. Once you are registered your IP will show up as: 209.75.196.16 !!

  20. Downsides: I relised that when i attempted to send a message it just sat there trying to send, until i went offline, came back online and clicked retry or send through server.
  21. This may just be my computer or anonymizer, because i tried this with another proxy server and it worked fine.
